Mastery in General Surgery Program

The Mastery in General Surgery Program (MGSP) is no longer accepting applications. The 2025-2026 cohort is underway and will be the final group for the MGSP. If you have any questions, please contact MasteryGS@facs.org.

The Mastery in General Surgery Program is a program for new surgeons who have completed residency, are entering into the practice of general surgery, and supports the transition to independent practice in general surgery through:

  • Building autonomy, decision-making, and clinical skills
  • Developing experience in practice management, leadership, and quality improvement
  • Teaching the business of medicine
  • Launching careers in general surgery
