International ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½NSQIP Scholarships

The International ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½NSQIP® Scholarships support three surgeons from outside the U.S. and Canada who demonstrate a strong commitment to surgical quality improvement. Scholars receive $10,000 to attend the ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½Quality, Safety & Cancer Conference and engage with ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½NSQIP leadership and peers.

Highlights:

  • $10,000 scholarship for international surgeons
  • Attend the ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½Quality, Safety & Cancer Conference
  • Optional hospital visits aligned with clinical interests

We will be accepting applications for the 2026 award year April 15–June 15, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Must be a graduate of a school of medicine
  • Must be from a country other than the US or Canada
  • Must have completed all formal training (including fellowships)
  • Must have at least one year of surgical practice, teaching, or research at their permanent institution
  • Must have no more than 35 years of surgical practice at the time of application
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to surgical quality improvement
  • Must be proficient in English
Location
  • Applicants must apply from their permanent institution.
  • Conference and hospital visits take place in the US.
Application Requirements
  • Completed online application (available on ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½website)
  • Curriculum vitae (CV only is not sufficient)
  • Description of work setting and quality improvement activities
  • Statement of career goals and how the experience will be applied
  • Three letters of recommendation, including one from:
    • Department chair or
    • Fellow of the ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ in the applicant’s country
  • All materials must be in English
Award Obligations
  • Must use the scholarship in the designated year (cannot be deferred)
  • Submit a full written report after the experience
  • Assistance with hotel accommodations is provided
  • Unsuccessful applicants may reapply up to two more times with a new application and updated materials
