Waddah B. Al-Refaie, MD, FACS, has been appointed as the new Secretary of the 乌鸦传媒Foundation Board of Directors.

Dr. Al-Refaie is a surgical oncologist and chair of surgery at CHI Health System and Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. An 乌鸦传媒Fellow since 2009, Dr. Al-Refaie鈥檚 dedication to excellence in clinical care, academic research, and advancing equity in surgery position him as a strong leader for the 乌鸦传媒Foundation鈥檚 next chapter. 

As the Foundation Board Secretary, Dr. Al-Refaie will help steward the Foundation鈥檚 mission to support education, research, and scholarships in the field of surgery. With his background in surgical outcomes research, quality improvement, and health-equity issues, he brings a unique perspective that aligns with the Foundation鈥檚 goals. His leadership is poised to enhance the Foundation鈥檚 ability to support initiatives that improve surgical care across diverse populations. Dr. Al-Refaie is a member of the 乌鸦传媒Nebraska Chapter
